Tempest Guard

Cooling Brothers are proud to announce the introduction of Tempest Guard Cyclonic Glass. Designed and engineered with the release of a new range of high performance structural interlayers from DuPont, Cooling Brothers have created a highly strengthened cyclonic glass product tailored for applications in areas prone to cyclones and violent storms.

The new SentryGlas interlayer from Dupont provides the rock solid foundation for Tempest Guard. Used extensively throughout the world for many uses including cyclone, hurricane and bomb blast protection, this exceptional product has also been used for structural applications such as canopies and balustrading. Building on this interlayer platform, Cooling Brothers can supply Tempest Guard using a Low E or toned glass to achieve energy star ratings as required. Tempest Guard can also be supplied in standard clear glass.

Cooling Brothers have commissioned independent testing by Curtin University and UWA to test from 6.52mm to 13.52mm thickness of Tempest Guard using the Dupont SentryGlas interlayer. The testing was to the current standard of AS 1170 .2 wind action which contains the cyclonic impact test of a 4kg piece of timber travelling at 15 metres per second.

The Tempest Guard results were exemplary. Tested in a variety of approved framing systems, all thicknesses of glass that were paired with the SentryGlas interlayer passed with flying colours. Tempest Guard is manufactured at our state of the art facility at High Wycombe, Western Australia. We will continue to innovate and test new products as the standard for Cyclonic regions increases.
