Cooling Brothers announces major expansion to IGU capacity
We have completed a major upgrade to our manufacturing capabilities with the addition of a new IGU line and KÖDISPACE 4SG spacer system.
Ultra Light-E provides an entry point into soft coat Low E performance for residential or commercial projects. Designed around a single silver soft coat Low-E coating, Ultra Light-E performance will allow increased areas of glass within building design, while still meeting 7 star NatHERS requirements.
Hard coats (Pyrolytic coatings) are a single layer vapor deposit applied at high temperatures during the float glass process. Hard coats are ideal for use as a single (monolithic) piece of glass as the coating is highly durable.
Soft coats (sputter coats) are applied in a large magnetron sputter vacuum deposition (MSVD) machine. This allows for a nano-technologically precise coating with multiple layers of metals such as silver, greatly improving performance. Soft coats typically achieve greater solar control, higher visible light transmission (VLT), and lower U Values compared to hard coat Low-E glass. Soft coats can only be used with an IGU as the coating is fragile and easily damaged.
Single, double, and triple silver refer to the number of silver layers within the soft coat. Single silver soft coats achieve lower performance when compared to triple silver, which has an increased ability to reflect long-wave infrared radiation. This improves solar performance and reduces overall heat loss/gain.
Unlike conventional aluminium spacers, warm edge spacers are made of composite materials and extruded via CNC directly to the glass during manufacure. This combination of material and manufacturing technology results in a spacer that has lower thermal conductivity, reducing heat loss and maximising thermal performance. For IGUs filled with argon gas, warm edge spacers offer vastly improved impermeability with effectively zero leakage over the lifespan of the unit.
All InsulCool IGUs are manufactured with warm edge spacers as standard.
Thermal breakage refers to glass breakage due to temperature differences. Any glass, including IGUs, can be prone to thermal breakage if exposed to extreme and divergent temperatures. To prevent this, specify IGUs with heat-strengthened glass for applications subject to rapid temperature changes.
For projects where safety and performance are paramount, IGUs can be configured with a custom laminated Soft Coat Low-E. Please contact us for details.
InsulCool IGUs are manufactured in Perth and Melbourne and delivered across Australia and New Zealand.
The soft coat Low E used in our InsulCool range of IGUs is sourced from a range of leading global manufacturers including Guardian, ACG, Saint Gobain, and others.
Yes, InsulCool can be produced with decorative glass products such as ImagInk, Digiglass, and Vanceva.
