We source the majority of our glass from premium global flat glass manufacturers for the ultimate in low-e performance and stringent quality assurance. Our custom laminated products are powered by interlayer technology from Eastman and Kuraray, an area of processing where only the very best will do to deliver the highest structural performance.

Warm Edge IGU Processing

All Cooling Brothers double glazed units are manufactured with warm-edge spacers to deliver market leading thermal performance. Our warm edge spacers are sourced from global leaders Kommerling and Quanex.

Digitally Printed & Decorative Glass

We provide the market with an extensive range of decorative glass solutions: ImagInk direct-to-glass ceramic printing, Digiglass printed interlayers and Vanceva coloured interlayers.

Custom Laminating

From our Forel custom laminating facility we provide the Australian glass market with an extensive range of laminated glass solutions. Our laminating line processes all commonly used interlayers including PVB, SGP and EVA. We are one of the only companies in Australia to offer custom laminated Soft Coat Low-E glass.

Printed Glass Façade: Bob Hawke College Stage 2, Perth

Bob Hawke College Stage 2 seamlessly integrates public art into its architecture, with a striking printed glass facade designed by artist Jon Tarry. Using ImagInk and DigiGlass printing technologies, the artwork changes appearance depending on the viewing perspective—externally featuring bold white ink, while internally, the interlayer alters the perceived colors and depth. Bob Hawke College stage two won the 2024 George Temple Poole award, the top prize of the 2024 WA Architecture Awards.

However, decorative applications within most homes have typically been limited to painted splash backs. This private residence in Perth showcases how printed glass can be used in a range of applications that provide strong aesthetic and functional benefits.

Soft Coat Low-E Double Glazing: Glen Waverley Sports Hub

The Glen Waverley Sports Hub stands as a benchmark in modern community sporting infrastructure — designed with high-performance, sustainability, and user experience in mind. SMB Windows supplied and installed a full suite of commercial-grade, thermally broken windows and doors glazed with Cooling Brothers InsulCool Ultra Pro Double Glazing. A soft coat Low-E, InsulCool Ultra Pro is configured specifically for cold weather Australian climates, delivering high performance thermal outcomes throughout winter and summer month

Soft coat Low E: Elder Street Lookout, Perth

Clad in custom-designed glazed angled sections of fabricated steel, this striking form looms over three levels and sits 25 metres into the sky. The distinctive form is complex in form and function, with 25 tonnes of laser-cut steel encasing 115 irregular pieces of glazing. Each piece of glass is an IGU made up of high performance soft coat Low E and a digitally printed ceramic pattern combined in a custom laminated makeup.

One-way vision shower screens: Crown Towers Barangaroo, Sydney

A lack of existing solutions for unidirectional shower screens results in Australian first for innovation in glass at Crown Towers Barangaroo. Specialised PVB interlayers and sputter coated silver glass come together through custom laminating to deliver mirror-finish shower screens for one of the world's most iconic hotels.

Ultra Cool-E: Building 360 – Boola Katitjin, Perth

Murdoch University’s Building 360 – Boola Katitjin combines mass engineered eucalypt timber with high performance soft coat double glazing. Cooling Brothers partnered with ABS Facades to supply UltraCool-E double glazed units as part of the main events area located at the northern end of the national award-winning building.
